Terms of Service

Last updated:

The short version: Check Please helps your group figure out who owes what. The totals are a helpful estimate — always check them against your real receipt. We don't handle the actual money.

1. What Check Please does

Check Please is a tool for splitting shared restaurant or group expenses. You enter or upload a receipt, your group selects what each person ordered, and we calculate each person's share including tax and tip.

2. What it doesn't do

3. Estimates, not invoices

Totals shown are calculated from the information entered and are provided for convenience. They may differ from your actual receipt due to typos, missing items, or rounding. Always confirm amounts against the real receipt before anyone pays.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Disputes between people

Check Please simply does the math. We are not responsible for disagreements between members of a group about who ordered what or who owes what. Those are between you and your group.

6. Availability

We work to keep Check Please running smoothly, but we provide it "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Check Please is not liable for any losses arising from your use of the service, including incorrect totals, missed items, or disputes within your group.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll revise the "last updated" date above, and continued use means you accept the current version.
